Since 1988, Spectrum has met every Monday night; initially in the St. Macartan’s College Art room and then The Market House, we now meet on Monday evenings 8pm – 10pm at Art Flow Studio, in the wonderful setting of the Garage Theatre.
The Spectrum art room has always been a hive of activity and discussion over the passing years; the memories from which are still fresh today and have developed the strong foundations of the group. The Garage Theatre has created a welcoming creative space where artists gather weekly to progress their ideas, through a variety of media and with a diversity of approaches.
Our creative community group welcomes, facilitates and encourages artists of varying backgrounds with differing perspectives that have a common goal; that we are committed to providing an outlet to those creatives from both sides of the border to practice their craft without concern in a safe and comfortable environment.
In a step to foster friendships and provide broader insights, we take annual excursions to local and national galleries. We also go on fieldtrips to Achill, Carlingford, Downings and Rossnowlagh. These trips and weekly meets together play a role in shaping our future at Spectrum; a future that we look forward to with unwavering optimism!
This year Spectrum will celebrate their 34th year painting together, and to mark this occasion the group will display their artwork in an exhibition on the October 21st at the Garage Theatre.
