The reasons why people got involved in the War of Independence (1919-1921) and the Civil War (1922-23) are many and varied, some idealistic, others more personal. Such is the case of brothers Michael and Tom Thompson.  In this play by Joe Hanratty, set in the border region in 1924, a year after the end of the Irish Civil War, the brothers try to move on with their lives, but the past keeps coming back and will eventually shape their futures. This Project is supported by Monaghan County Council, Monaghan County Libraries, and the Dept of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sports & Media.
