| €14 – €16The Playboy of the Western World is a play about a young man named Christy Mahon who arrives in a rural Irish village claiming he has killed his father.
He is initially hailed as a hero by the villagers, especially the publican’s daughter, Pegeen, but his heroic status is shattered when his father, Old Mahon, appears, much to everyone’s surprise. The play explores themes of heroism, identity, and the gap between myth and reality.
Clones Drama Group has been going for many years and has been involved in many types of theatrical endeavours. From writing and producing our own material to plays such as I Do Not Like Thee Dr. Fell, Translations, Factory Girls, Arrah Na Pogue, Stags and Hens, 12 Angry Jurors and Lovers to name a few.
